Women Self-Help Groups Should Operate Nal Jal Yojana: CM Dr. Yadav

Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that the operation of the Nal Jal Yojana under the Jal Jeevan Mission should be entrusted to women self-help groups. He stressed the importance of conducting activities to enhance groundwater storage capacity at the village level for sustainable operation of mission-built structures. Dr. Yadav urged for public participation through village-level awareness campaigns. These remarks were made during his address at the Jal Jeevan Mission meeting at Mantralaya. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Deora, Principal Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Malay Shrivatav, Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Shri J N Kansotia, Principal Secretary Shri Manish Singh, and other officials attended the meeting.

Transform Madhya Pradesh into a Benchmark State for Household Tap Water Access

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted that over 63 percent of households in the state now have access to tap water. He emphasized the ongoing rapid progress in extending this service to all rural families. Dr. Yadav urged comprehensive efforts at all levels to position Madhya Pradesh as a national model for universal household tap water access, addressing challenges and disparities effectively. He proposed rewarding assembly constituencies, districts, Janpads, Gram Panchayats, and others achieving quick and high-quality implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission initiatives.

Tap water is being provided to 70 lakh 72 thousand 875 rural families

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that social initiatives should be encouraged to set up drinking water kiosks, arrange water for animals and create shady places to make drinking water easily available to the common people in the villages. All villagers should contribute to spread awareness in economical use of water and maintenance of pipes etc. It was told in the meeting that out of total one crore 11 lakh 82 thousand 86 rural families in the state, 70 lakh 72 thousand 875 families are being provided tap water under Jal Jeevan Mission.
