Chief Minister Inaugurates ZX Eden Tamdil Lake Resort
Saitual – Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma formally inaugurated the ZX Eden Tamdil Lake Resort today. He was accompanied by Mizoram Legislative Assembly Speaker Pu Lalbiakzama, Tourism Minister Pu Lalnghinglova, and Fisheries Minister Pu Lalthansanga.
In his address, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation for the resort owners’ dedicated efforts since 2023, acknowledging their hard work in developing the facility. He stated that due to inefficiencies in the functioning of certain government-managed establishments, privatisation becomes necessary in select cases. To ensure the growth and better management of this resort, the Tourism Department has outsourced it to private operators under this approach.
CM Lalduhoma highlighted Tamdil as one of the most renowned tourist destinations in Mizoram. He shared that the site is currently managed under a collaborative effort between three departments — Fisheries, Forest, and Tourism — and is overseen by a Tamdil Management Committee chaired by the Deputy Commissioner. He urged all relevant line departments to maintain the site efficiently and create a welcoming environment for visitors.
The Chief Minister also appreciated ZX Eden Tamdil Lake Resort for creating employment opportunities for many local families and encouraged the resort managers to continue serving the public diligently.
In 2020, ZX Bamboo and Woodworks began their venture by building traditional-style cottages using bamboo and timber. In July 2023, they took over the management of Tamdil Lake Resort under the Tourism Privatisation Scheme for a term of 15 years.
Today’s inaugural event was led by Tourism Director Pi R. Lalrodingi, while Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma delivered the inaugural address. Resort owner Pi Ronghilhloi expressed gratitude during her speech. Other dignitaries including Speaker Pu Lalbiakzama, Tourism Minister Pu Lalnghinglova, Fisheries Minister Pu Lalthansanga, and Saitual Deputy Commissioner Dr. Lalngura Tlau also shared their thoughts and extended their congratulations during the ceremony.
