Hyderabad Rolls Out Red Carpet as Miss World 2025 Contestants Touch Down
Hyderabad has transformed into a global stage of glamour and grace as it prepares to host the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant from May 7 to June 2. The city is welcoming beauty queens from around 120 countries, marking one of the most prestigious international events ever hosted in Telangana.
The arrival of contestants has turned the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport into a vibrant celebration. Dressed in cultural finery, Telangana’s tourism officials are offering a traditional welcome, complete with flower garlands, tilak ceremonies, and folk music. Dedicated lounges and multilingual help desks have been set up to ensure a smooth and memorable reception for the international guests.
So far, around 90 participants have landed in Hyderabad, including prominent names like Miss Brazil Jessica Scanduzzi Pedrosso and Miss South Africa Joylizé Jansen van Rensburg. Each arrival has added to the growing buzz around the event, with visitors being escorted to luxury accommodations arranged across the city.
Adding a twist to the otherwise festive atmosphere is the absence of Pakistan’s representative. Reports suggest the ongoing diplomatic tensions, especially in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, may have prompted Pakistan to skip the event. Though no official confirmation has been released, sources indicate Pakistani nationals were instructed to exit India by April 29, likely explaining their withdrawal.
As Hyderabad gears up for weeks of fashion, culture, and competition, the world’s eyes are now firmly set on the City of Pearls. With cultural showcases and grand ceremonies in the pipeline, the Miss World 2025 pageant promises to be a spectacular affair.
