State Government Holds Meeting with Armed Forces; Will Work with Greater Coordination – CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai – Against the backdrop of tensions between India and Pakistan, a crucial meeting was held at Varsha Bungalow under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss coordination between the armed forces and the state government. CM Fadnavis announced that the state government will work more closely and in better coordination with the defense forces going forward.

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar also attended the meeting, which focused on the state’s preparedness and security. Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Lt. General Pawan Chaddha and Colonel Sandeep Seal from the Indian Army, Rear Admiral Anil Jaggi and Naval Commander Nitesh Garg from the Indian Navy, and Air Vice Marshal Rajat Mohan from the Indian Air Force were present. Representatives from the Reserve Bank, JNPT, BPT, Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, ATS, and Home Guards also participated.

The discussions centered on intelligence sharing, enhanced use of technology, preventive strategies, and the need for faster coordination mechanisms between the armed forces and the state government. Speaking at the meeting, CM Fadnavis praised the Indian Army’s precision and strength in executing Operation Sindhur, calling it unprecedented. “I salute our defense forces,” he said. “Mumbai is an extremely important city—India’s financial capital. During past attacks, the enemy has deliberately targeted Mumbai to strike at the heart of India’s economy.”

He emphasized that the coming times would require stronger efforts and preparedness. “Intelligence sharing is now more critical than ever. Everyone needs to be more vigilant about cyber security. Senior state officials and defense personnel must work together with greater coordination,” he added.

Also present were Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary Ashwini Bhide, Secretary Srikar Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Iqbal Singh Chahal, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Vipin Sharma, Additional DGP of Civil Security Prabhat Kumar, Additional IGP of Intelligence Shirish Jain, Additional Chief Secretary of State Disaster Management Sonia Sethi, as well as the Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban District Collectors and officials from other departments.
