CM’s Stern Message: Officers Must Be Sensitive Towards Public Issues – Resolving People’s Problems Promptly is the Administration’s Duty
Jaipur – Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that the state government, committed to the all-round development of Rajasthan’s citizens, is rapidly implementing various schemes on the ground. He noted that all departments and officials are actively engaged in ensuring the timely and effective execution of budget announcements. While appreciating the work of diligent officers, CM Sharma also gave strict instructions to take stern action against negligent and corrupt employees, stating, “The fragrance of good work spreads far and wide.”
During a review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday, CM Sharma took strict action against officials who misused their positions or were negligent in their duties. He suspended Raipur Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Gulab Chand Verma of Beawar district and directed that Tehsildar Pushpendra Panchal be immediately placed on APO. Similarly, he ordered that Ramsar SDO Anil Kumar Jain and Tehsildar Ashok Kumar Meghwal of Barmer district also be placed on APO.
Timely Redressal of Public Grievances a Top Priority
The CM instructed that matters received through the CM Jan Sunwai (public grievance redressal) should be resolved promptly in accordance with regulations. He directed District Collectors and Superintendents of Police to hold regular public hearings at the district level to ensure that citizens do not have to travel to the state capital to have their grievances heard. District Collectors were also asked to conduct regular departmental reviews as per a scheduled plan and ensure the resolution of complaints on the Rajasthan Sampark Portal. CM Sharma said that Collectors and SPs should be well-informed of all local developments and public concerns.
Uplifting BPL Families a Top Government Priority
The Chief Minister reiterated that lifting Below Poverty Line (BPL) families above the poverty line is a top priority of the state government. To achieve this, the ‘Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Garibi Mukt Gaon Yojana’ has been launched. In the first phase, 122 villages from each district (a total of 5002 villages) have been identified. District Collectors have been instructed to complete the socio-economic surveys promptly so that identified families can receive timely benefits. Each selected family will receive ₹21,000 in financial aid along with a Self-Reliant Card.
National Food Security Act (NFSA): Applicants to be Informed of Application Deficiencies
CM Sharma reviewed progress under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), including new applications, removal of ineligible individuals, and pending cases. He stressed the importance of careful scrutiny of all applications submitted on the portal. If deficiencies are found in an application, the applicant must be informed so corrections can be made in time. Village Development Officers and Patwaris must be held accountable for ensuring applicants provide the required documentation.
Officers Must Remain in the Field, Join VC from Ground Locations
The CM directed District Collectors to personally visit the field for overseeing NFSA-related work. He said that all pending cases must be resolved based on a detailed action plan and that officers must join upcoming video conferences (VC) from their field locations. He also instructed that reports on pending cases and action taken against negligent staff be submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Clear All Pending CCA Cases by July 31
The CM ordered the resolution of 17 CCA and 16 CCA cases by July 2025, stating that negligence in government work will not be tolerated. Strict action must be taken against any employee involved in misuse of power, carelessness, or corruption. This will help strengthen the justice system, enhance transparency, and boost public trust in the administration.
Land Allocation Issues Must Be Resolved by June
CM Sharma stressed that land allocation is essential for implementing the 2025–26 budget announcements. The Revenue Department and District Collectors must coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to resolve all land allocation cases by June 2025.
Stern Action to Stop Illegal Mining
The Chief Minister instructed that coordinated efforts be made by the Forestry, Mining, Transport, Revenue, and Police Departments to take prompt and strict action against illegal mining. He also emphasized reviewing the progress of the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan and Karmabhoomi Se Matribhumi Abhiyan, and regularly submitting updates to the CMO. Preparations related to Environment and Yoga Day must also be completed on time.
Emergency Measures for Heatwave and Monsoon
CM Sharma directed District Collectors to ensure the availability of water, electricity, medical facilities, and other essential services to help citizens cope with the intense summer heat. He also instructed that all arrangements to prevent waterlogging during the upcoming monsoon be completed well in advance.
The meeting at the CM’s residence was attended by the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and other senior officials. District In-Charge Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and other district-level officers joined the meeting via video conference.
