Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a grand roadshow in Patna on Wednesday evening, drawing massive crowds. People thronged the streets, waving the tricolour and chanting slogans as PM Modi greeted them with folded hands and waves. Residents climbed onto rooftops and balconies along the route to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.

Earlier in the evening, PM Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna. He was accompanied by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Built at a cost of around ₹1,200 crore, the modern terminal has been designed to handle one crore passengers annually, significantly enhancing air connectivity in the region.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for a new civil enclave at Bihta Airport, another major infrastructure initiative worth ₹1,410 crore. This project aims to support the growing residential and educational hubs around Patna.

On May 30, PM Modi is scheduled to visit Karakat in Bihar, where he will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stones of development projects collectively worth over ₹48,520 crore. A key highlight is the foundation stone laying of Phase-II (3×800 MW) of the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project in Aurangabad district. With an investment exceeding ₹29,930 crore, this project is expected to significantly boost power generation, spur industrial growth, and generate employment opportunities in the region.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for several critical road infrastructure projects, including:

  • Four-laning of the Patna-Ara-Sasaram section (NH-119A)

In the rail sector, the Prime Minister will dedicate the third rail line between Son Nagar and Mohammad Ganj, built at a cost of over ₹1,330 crore. This project is expected to enhance railway capacity and improve connectivity in the region.

These initiatives mark a significant step toward modernizing Bihar’s infrastructure and boosting regional development.
