Big corporations join Yogi government’s Mission Kayakalp to modernize schools with CSR funds.

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts to modernize education in Uttar Pradesh are now bearing fruit as major private companies step forward to support the ambitious Mission Kayakalp. By leveraging their CSR funds, these companies are helping to transform state schools into institutions with world-class facilities.

A prime example of this initiative is Tata’s Air India SATS, which has taken on the task of revamping primary schools in the Maharajganj district. The facelifting of one school has already been completed, and another is nearing completion as part of the initiative.

These schools are being eq1uipped with top-notch amenities, including kitchens, classrooms, and smart classes, as found in popular private schools.

It’s noteworthy that the Yogi government launched Mission Kayakalp  with the goal of modernizing primary schools across the state according to various parameters. The government has also appealed to private companies to join and support this initiative.

*AI SATS rejuvenates primary schools with Rs 45 lakh*

AI SATS has taken the initiative to rejuvenate two primary schools in Maharajganj, providing 45 lakh rupees to the district administration for this purpose. This amount is being used to equip Composite School Sonari Khas and Primary School Chowk Cantonment in the Chowk area with world-class facilities.

The rejuvenation of Primary School Chowk Cantonment has already been completed, leaving the local community awestruck.  The school’s walls have been adorned with wood furnishings, and both schools have been developed into model schools with facilities like computers, interactive panels, smart classes, and furniture.

The schools have been improved based on 19 parameters, including among others drinking water, blackboards, furniture, toilets, tap water, painting, science labs, libraries, and computer labs.

*Objective to promote education*

Under CM Yogi’s Mission Kayakalp, which aims to improve quality of education and infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, AI SATS has selected two primary schools in the district of Maharajganj for rejuvenation. An official from AI SATS stated that the total cost for this project is Rs 45 lakh. Recently, the company also organized a job fair in this district.

The makeover of these schools aims to attract students, including those who stayed away from it for lack of facilities and promote attendance in schools. AI SATS is focusing on providing quality education through smart and online classes, promoting learning and good health through sports facilities, and encouraging reading habits with the establishment of libraries.

Additional objectives include attracting more girls to participate in school cleanliness, constructing toilets and boundary walls, and creating informative wall paintings to provide students with better learning opportunities.

*Major institutions support Mission Kayakalp with over Rs 18,000 cr through CSR funds*

Numerous prominent government and non-government institutions are bolstering the Education department’s Mission Kayakalp through their CSR funds. According to the Basic Education Department, 75 institutions across the state have collectively contributed more than Rs 18,000 crore.

These contributions have been allocated to various initiatives, including improving school infrastructure and setting up smart classes. Additionally, CSR funds have facilitated the installation of computer and science labs, furniture, swings, and RO systems. While some institutions have directly provided infrastructure, others have contributed funds specifically for these improvements.
