Health Minister Conducts Surprise Inspections at MCH Albela Para and Government Komaldev Hospital in Kanker

Raipur : Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal carried out an unannounced inspection today at MCH Hospital in Albela Para and the Government Komaldev Hospital during his visit to Kanker. He assessed the services and facilities available at both institutions and issued necessary directions to the hospital administrators and staff. At the MCH Hospital, he reviewed the availability of medicines in the pharmacy and instructed staff to promote and distribute generic medicines. He also examined the patient registration and medical record workflow through the ‘Next Gen’ software system.

During his visit, the Minister interacted with final-year MBBS students of the first batch in Kanker, urging them to serve in rural and tribal regions after graduation. Student Rahul Sharma raised the need for separate borewells for girls’ and boys’ hostels. Responding immediately, the Minister instructed Collector Shri Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar to initiate borewell drilling. He also visited the Neonatal Care Unit and directed that it be further upgraded.

In the pediatric ward, the Health Minister reviewed the medical case of 13-year-old Ishwar Lal Markam from Vishrampuri, who is suffering from diabetes, and instructed the Chief Medical and Health Officer to prepare a detailed case file for better treatment. He also issued directions to ensure regular blood supply for thalassemia patient Himanshu Markam from Ghotwahi. While interacting with Rajjo Bai Kawachi from Chichki, Badgaon, he wished her a speedy recovery.

Inspection at Government Komaldev Hospital

At the Government Komaldev Hospital, the Minister inspected the MRI room, console room, and dialysis unit. He ordered the installation of necessary equipment like air conditioners in the dialysis room and suggested expanding the facility. He also instructed hospital authorities to install ceiling fans in areas where they were lacking within a week.

While visiting the male ward, he spoke with patient Karuram and wished him a swift recovery. In the general ward, he interacted with 86-year-old Brijlal Sahu from Bagodar, who was suffering from leg swelling. Brijlal shared that he was receiving free treatment through the Ayushman card. The Health Minister responded, saying, “This is Vishnu’s good governance — quality treatment is ensured here.” He also met with Ramvati Nishad from Dudhwa, offering her words of encouragement, saying, “You’ll be fine, Ma — don’t worry.”

The Minister reassured all patients that quality healthcare services would be ensured in both hospitals and all necessary upgrades would be completed in a timely manner.

Present on the occasion were Secretary of the Medical Education Department Shri Amit Kumar Kataria, Commissioner of Medical Education Smt. Shikha Rajput Tiwari, Member of Parliament Shri Bhojraj Nag, Kanker MLA Shri Asharam Netam, Fisheries Welfare Board Chairman Shri Bharat Matiyara, Handicrafts Board Chairperson Smt. Shalini Rajput, Dean Dr. Khan, other public representatives, and hospital staff.
