“Putin thanks PM Modi for efforts on Ukraine crisis resolution.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts towards resolving the Ukrainian crisis. During their bilateral meeting, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the growing strength of the India-Russia relationship, noting that in the past decade they have met 17 times, with a total of 22 bilateral meetings over 25 years, reflecting the depth of their ties. He also highlighted India’s longstanding struggle against terrorism over the last 40-50 years, expressing solidarity with Russia following terror attacks in Moscow. Prime Minister Modi unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms.

Addressing global challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic and various conflicts, Prime Minister Modi underscored the positive impact of India-Russia cooperation. He credited this partnership with benefiting Indian farmers and consumers, particularly in stabilizing fuel prices amidst global uncertainties. Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Russia’s significant role in meeting India’s petrol and diesel demands, contributing to international market stability through their bilateral fuel agreement.

In response, President Putin appreciated Prime Minister Modi’s proactive approach in seeking a resolution to the Ukrainian conflict. He welcomed New Delhi’s willingness to assist Moscow in efforts aimed at achieving peace in the region.
