Basic amenities will be provided to consumers visiting electricity offices: Anil Vij
Chandigarh – Haryana’s Energy Minister Sh. Anil Vij said power consumers visiting electricity offices in the state to pay their bills will now be provided with basic amenities, including comfortable seating. He added that relevant instructions have already been issued to the concerned officers.
Sh. Vij was responding to a question asked by mediapersons regarding the recent decision to provide various facilities in electricity department offices.
He emphasized that every individual who comes to pay an electricity bill is a consumer, and in doing so, they are rendering a great service to the government. Their payments help keep the department running and ensure that staff receive their salaries and allowances.
Citing an example, Sh. Vij said when a customer visits a shop, the shopkeeper offers them a seat under a fan or air conditioner. Similarly, anyone who comes to pay their electricity bill is doing important work for the government. Therefore, all such consumers should be provided with a comfortable seating area. He has issued directions to the officers to ensure this. In addition, drinking water and toilet facilities shall also be provided at the electricity offices.
