Rajasthan Government Strengthening Power Infrastructure with a Positive Outlook – Energy Minister

Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Shri Heeralal Nagar conducted a review meeting with power department officials in Karauli on Wednesday. He emphasized that the state government is taking all possible steps to strengthen the power infrastructure and is sensitive to addressing public grievances promptly. He instructed all departmental officers to resolve issues faced by the public without delay and to ensure that electricity connections, especially for agricultural purposes, are issued with full sensitivity and proactiveness.

Shri Nagar stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government is working with a positive outlook to fortify the electricity system. During the meeting, he expressed serious concern about ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the general public and issued strict directions to the officials. He particularly emphasized strengthening power arrangements in remote rural areas and ensuring that water supply operations are not disrupted due to electricity issues.

He instructed that progress must be made in the construction of Grid Substations (GSS) and that there should be no hindrance in the tendering process. He also directed officials to expedite all electricity-related works.

The Energy Minister urged departmental officials to reinforce the electricity supply system and accelerate new projects. He ordered the timely replacement of burnt transformers and time-bound issuance of new power connections. He reviewed the progress of central schemes like RDSS, KUSUM Yojana, and the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, providing the concerned officers with necessary directions.

Shri Nagar also instructed that under the Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight, electricity-related grievances must be resolved at camps being held at the gram panchayat level. He stressed strict action against those installing unauthorized transformers.

He directed that individuals who have deposited demand notice amounts for power connections should be provided with connections promptly. In case of any discrepancies with the deposited amount, revised demand notices must be issued. He also ordered the transfer of technical helpers who have been posted in the same location for extended periods.

Emphasizing accountability, he said all officials must fulfill their responsibilities in the interest of the state and the nation.

District Collector Shri Neelabh Saxena assured that regular reviews will be conducted with the electricity department and that efforts will be made to ensure uninterrupted power supply as per the directions issued in the meeting.

On this occasion, Karauli MLA Darshan Singh Gurjar and Sapotara MLA Hansraj Meena presented certain demands and issues, which the minister assured would be resolved at the earliest.
