Mumbai, 13th – Mumbai, known as the powerhouse of the country and aspiring to be the financial capital of Maharashtra, was envisioned today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today’s inauguration, foundation laying, inauguration, and dedication ceremonies of ambitious projects costing over ₹29,000 crores were held remotely. Present at the Nesco Exhibition Center in Goregaon, where these programs took place, were Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale, Mumbai City Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Mumbai Suburban District Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and others.

10 lakh jobs to be created by Vadavan Port project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “In recent years, connectivity in Mumbai and its surroundings has increased. In the coming years, it will improve further. Various development projects in the state have boosted employment. Approval has been given for Vadavan Port, a project worth ₹76,000 crores, which will create ten lakh jobs. Maharashtra has become attractive to investors, and the Center and State governments will work faster.”

Make Maharashtra a tourism hub

Maharashtra has a glorious history. Maharashtra is not only an industrial and agricultural powerhouse but also a financial center. Prime Minister Shri Modi expressed the expectation to make it a tourism hub. He said, “There should be continuous development in the country, and Maharashtra should have a significant role along with Mumbai.” He expressed the desire to enhance the lives of Maharashtra’s citizens. Projects like Coastal Road, Atal Setu, will greatly benefit the citizens. He mentioned that eight kilometers of Metro was running in Mumbai ten years ago. Today, it is running 80 kilometers, and work is underway on a 200-kilometer metro network.

Today’s groundbreaking projects in Mumbai will lead to significant savings in travel time during commutes, thanks to increased connectivity. Everyone will benefit, Prime Minister Modi said. He highlighted the improvement of facilities in various pilgrimage sites. He said that soon, the Palkhi route will be available for pilgrims to Pandharpur. Skill training and scholarships have been provided to youth in the state, which will greatly benefit them, he said. He expressed his admiration for various development plans in the state for the common people.

Maharashtra leads in basic facilities – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “After taking inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has made unprecedented progress in the last ten years. Consequently, various development projects in the state have been completed, and development work has gained new momentum. Maharashtra excels in basic facilities. Each project in the state receives inspiration from Prime Minister Shri Modi. The state is once again becoming the epitome of Maharashtra. The inauguration of projects today will also be secure, grand, and prosperous. Prime Minister Shri Modi will be with us, and he has expressed confidence in this regard.”

Mumbai’s image will change due to basic facilities – Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Thanks to Prime Minister Shri Modi’s inspiration, various development works have been carried out in Mumbai, and the improvement of basic facilities is aimed at enhancing connectivity. In 2018, the state aimed to prepare connectivity that would allow travel from anywhere in Mumbai within an hour. Today, from the groundbreaking projects, it will be possible to achieve this. Various projects in Mumbai are wonders of basic facilities. These projects will change Mumbai’s entire image in the future, he expressed confidence.”

Through the medium of Youth Employment Training Scheme, youth will get direction – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “The state government has taken decisions in the interest of public welfare and various welfare projects are being completed quickly. Through the Youth Employment Training Scheme, young people will get direction.”
