Now Development Projects Will Gain More Momentum: New System Implemented on CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s Orders

No More Sending Files to Finance Department for Administrative and Financial Approvals Post-Tender

Jaipur – Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government is committed to providing a transparent, corruption-free administration to the people. The state is working diligently to ensure that development projects and welfare schemes reach the rightful beneficiaries swiftly and efficiently. In line with this vision, a new system has now been implemented across the state to accelerate development works and reduce procedural delays.

As per the Chief Minister’s directive, the practice of sending files to the Finance Department for administrative and financial approval after the tendering process has now been abolished. This system, introduced by the previous government, was causing unnecessary delays in the commencement of development projects.

During the previous administration, an intentional delay mechanism was embedded in the process whereby the executing department, even after obtaining approval for a project, had to send proposals to the Finance Department, which would only provide a principle approval. Subsequently, for administrative and financial sanctions, the same proposal had to be sent back again—leading to a repetitive and time-consuming loop.

This redundant two-step process was adding an extra 15 to 30 days of delay, escalating project costs and depriving citizens of timely benefits.

To resolve this, CM Bhajanlal Sharma instructed immediate reform of the system. Under the new arrangement, once the Finance Department approves a project proposal received from the executing department, that department is now fully authorized to issue the work order post-tender. The executing department can directly upload the approved administrative and financial sanction on the designated portal based on the tender amount—eliminating the need for resending the file to the Finance Department.

This decision is expected to significantly expedite development works across the state. It ensures that projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe and with full quality, bringing the government’s development commitments to life on the ground.
