CM Dhami Experiences Jungle Safari at Corbett National Park; Over 1,000 Saplings Planted Under ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ Campaign
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami today experienced the thrill and wonder of wildlife during a jungle safari in Corbett National Park. He remarked that the safari was not merely a chance to witness the natural beauty, but also an opportunity to connect deeply with biodiversity and the priceless heritage of nature.
The Chief Minister noted that, thanks to the consistent efforts of the state government, jungle safari tourism has gained a unique identity. Tourists from across India and abroad are now flocking to Uttarakhand, significantly strengthening the tourism-based economy of the state. This surge in tourism has also opened new avenues for self-employment and livelihoods for the local communities.
On this occasion, more than 1,000 saplings were planted as part of the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign with the support of the Forest Department, local communities, and environment enthusiasts. The Chief Minister described the plantation drive not just as an act of afforestation, but as a heartfelt tribute to motherhood and reverence for nature.
CM Dhami also interacted with the Forest Department team and praised their dedicated efforts in protecting forests and wildlife. He emphasized that the department’s commitment and service play a vital role in safeguarding the greenery and biodiversity of the state.
