Trees and Plants Have Life According to Indian Culture and Vedic Tradition: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Indian Vedic literature and traditional knowledge have taught us that trees and plants possess life. Based on this belief, we not only worship trees but also regard them as
our protectors. They are a vital source of sustenance for human life. CM Dr. Yadav made these remarks while launching a tree plantation campaign at the Mahakal premises in Ujjain on Saturday. The event began with Vedic-Matra chanting and the Deep-Prajjwalan.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav welcomed Mahamandaleshwar Shri Uttam Swami and Mahant Shri Vineet Giri Maharaj of the Mahakaleshwar Temple by presenting them with shawls and symbolic mementoes of Shri Mahakal.
CM Dr. Yadav recalled that the great Indian scientist Dr. Jagadish Chandra Bose proved abroad that plants have life. People there were so moved by this revelation that they lifted him on their shoulders. They told him that he would be praised immensely upon sharing this discovery in India. To this, Dr. Bose had responded that Indians have known about the life within plants through traditional wisdom since the Vedic era.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that every individual should plant trees in their lifetime. This offers us an opportunity to repay the debt we owe to nature. He urged people to plant at least five saplings during the monsoon season, as a gesture of gratitude for nature’s blessings.
On this occasion, Ujjain In-charge Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal, Member of Parliament and Saint Shri Umesh Nath Maharaj, MP Shri Anil Firojiya, MLAs Shri Satish Malviya, Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, and other dignitaries were present.
