Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Reviews Heavy Rainfall Situation from State Disaster Operations Center

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday reviewed the situation of heavy rainfall across the state from the State Disaster Operations Centre located at IT Park. Interacting with all district magistrates through a virtual platform, the Chief Minister took updates on rainfall status, road conditions, arrangements for the Char Dham and Kanwar Yatras, and the status of electricity, drinking water, and other basic necessities in various districts.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to remain on 24-hour alert mode during the monsoon season. He emphasized that rainfall forecasts should be communicated to the public immediately to prevent any loss of life or property. The disaster management system should remain active at district, tehsil, block, and village levels.

He directed that roads disrupted due to rainfall should be restored at the earliest, and necessary equipment should be available at landslide-prone areas. The Chief Minister stressed reducing response time for emergency services so that public life remains unaffected. He also directed that sufficient stock of food grains, medicines, and essential supplies should be maintained in the hill districts, keeping monsoon challenges in mind.

To ensure mobility in rural areas, he instructed officials to make sure people don’t face travel difficulties. Alternative routes should be arranged if roads are blocked.

CM Dhami gave clear instructions to district collectors to ensure public safety, and that no incidents of electrocution should be reported. He had earlier directed for safety audits of all bridges, and on Monday, he reiterated that urban areas must not face waterlogging, asking for adequate arrangements to be made.

He also directed constant monitoring of rising river water levels and said pilgrims on the Char Dham Yatra should be provided regular weather updates. In case travel is affected by rain, food, water, and other essentials must be provided at designated rest stops.

Present on the occasion were Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional CEO Anand Swaroop, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and all district magistrates who joined virtually.
