- Sunita Kejriwal delivers message of social service at AAP Mahila Wing’s Hariyali Teej celebration
- Says, “The government continues to create hurdles for Delhiites, so we must continue supporting the needy”
- Women enjoyed cultural performances, mehndi, and Indian cuisine at the event held in Nizamuddin West
New Delhi : The Aam Aadmi Party’s Mahila Wing organized a Hariyali Teej celebration on Friday at the Nizamuddin West Community Centre. Sunita Kejriwal, wife of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, was the chief guest and inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp, joined by Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj and Women’s Wing President Sarika Chaudhary. The event featured vibrant cultural dances, mehndi application, and a wide spread of Indian cuisine enjoyed by women participants.

Extending her best wishes for the festival, Sunita Kejriwal said,
“The BJP government has not yet provided the ₹2,500 promised to women, and now they are placing conditions even on the free bus service.”
Also present were Anita Singh, wife of MP Sanjay Singh, MLA Kuldeep Kumar, and a large gathering of women.
Sunita Kejriwal described Teej as a celebration of love, trust, and the bond between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, saying:
“We women manage our households with dedication. On Hariyali Teej, we officially get a break to apply mehndi, swing on the jhula, eat our favorite foods, and chat with friends. Everyone should enjoy and celebrate this festival with joy.”
She added:
“We are fortunate that the Aam Aadmi Party is like a big family. May this spirit of harmony and love always remain in our family as we work together for society. During the Delhi elections, all our sisters worked tirelessly. We are united today because we share a passion to serve the community.”
Criticizing the BJP government in Delhi, Sunita Kejriwal said:
“The current BJP government has been unfair to women. Despite promising ₹2,500 for women, they never delivered it. That money seems to have vanished. They demolished several jhuggis (slum homes), leaving many families homeless. And now they’ve imposed conditions on the free bus service. The BJP government keeps creating hardships for the people of Delhi.”
She concluded with a call to action:
“Despite all this, we must continue to help those in need. We must never lose our passion. Let us keep our spirit of goodwill and enthusiasm alive.”
