AAP Leader Manish Sisodia Launches Video Series on “Global Education Systems and India”

New Delhi, Aug 2025 – Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and architect of Delhi’s education revolution, Manish Sisodia, has started a new video series named “Global Education System and India” to make people aware and to enable them to elect leaders who can give good education to the children of the country.

In the first episode of this series, he showed how countries like Japan, Singapore, China, Canada, and Finland progressed because of strong education systems.

Manish Sisodia said,

“My aim is to make people aware about the importance of education so that they elect those leaders who give the kind of education they want for their children.”

He said that Singapore, which got independence 18 years after India, today is among the world’s richest countries because of a good education system.

“India will change only when education changes, and education will change only when the thinking of leaders changes,” he said.

In the first episode, Sisodia discussed how:

  • Japan made education a government responsibility in 1872. In Japan, from childhood children are taught values like teamwork, responsibility, and patriotism. Children in schools themselves clean their classrooms and toilets.
  • Singapore had no natural resources. They said, “We have children, and we will give them a good education.” From engineers to toilet cleaners, everyone received good education. This became the foundation of Singapore’s development.
  • China became the second biggest economy in the world because of its strong education system. There, it is believed that hard work is more important than talent. Parents receive daily updates about their child’s academic performance and behavior from the school.
  • Canada made education a national responsibility. Even though 100 languages are spoken in schools, Canada considers diversity as its strength. The Parliament itself defines the educational objectives — which include leadership, strategic planning, and community building. These are also part of the curriculum.
  • Finland has been on top in global education rankings for years. There, education is an important subject of political debate. Only the most qualified people become teachers. Finland starts school education from the age of 7, because it believes that before that children should learn from nature, family, and through play.

At the end, Manish Sisodia asked:

“Which education model will India adopt? Can we trust teachers? Can we end the inequality of private schools?”
“We don’t have to copy anyone. We are India. We need to create an education model suitable for our country.”

He said,

“This country will change only when education changes. And education will change only when we elect such leaders who want to change it. If the thinking of leaders doesn’t change, then change the leaders.”
