Surajpur District Gets Development Boost Through Minister Laxmi Rajwade’s Initiative

Approval of Rs 26.03 Crore for Bridge and Road Construction Works

Raipur, August 25 : The infrastructural development of Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district is set to reach new heights. Through the persistent efforts of Women and Child Development Minister and Bhatgaon MLA, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, the Public Works Department has sanctioned more than Rs 26.03 crore for the financial year 2024-25. This amount will be utilized for the construction of key roads and bridges in the district, which will significantly enhance connectivity and accelerate economic development in the region.

Among the major approved projects is the widening and strengthening of a 5.80-kilometre stretch from Silphili NH-43 to Maheshpur-Latori Road in Surajpur district, at a cost of Rs 12.69 crore. Similarly, a 5.10-kilometre road construction, including bridges and culverts from Bhavarkhoh to Gangapur-Kumpi, has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 7.29 crore. Additionally, Rs 6.04 crore has been approved for road and bridge works on the main route from Chonga to Bhodwanipara-Mouharipara in the Odgi block, covering a total length of 4.20 kilometres.

Expressing her happiness over the approval of these projects, Minister Smt. Rajwade stated that upon completion, these initiatives will greatly improve transportation facilities in the rural areas of Surajpur district, providing better connectivity for the local population. She emphasized that these projects will not only ease commuting but also bolster economic activities related to trade and agriculture.

She further highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is committed to translating every development promise into reality. The government’s dedication to integrating rural regions into the mainstream is clearly visible through such initiatives. Construction work on these projects will commence soon, which will also create employment opportunities for locals and steer regional development in a new direction.
