CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Directs District Magistrates to Stay on Ground Zero Amid Continuous Rainfall

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Monday, instructed all District Magistrates, connected virtually, to stay continuously on ground zero with their entire teams in view of the persistent rainfall in the state. He emphasized that in case of road blockages due to heavy rains, efforts must be made to clear them promptly. Similarly, drinking water and electricity lines should be restored immediately if damaged. He directed that alternate arrangements for public movement should be ensured swiftly if rural connectivity roads are disrupted. Preparations to tackle waterlogging situations should be made in advance.

The Chief Minister also ordered a quick assessment of crop damage caused by the rains. He issued strict instructions to the District Magistrates to take stringent legal action against individuals who have illegally obtained ration cards, Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, Ayushman cards, and other documents, as well as those involved in facilitating such fraudulent activities. Regular anti-encroachment drives must also be carried out in the districts.

Under “Operation Kalnemi”, action must be taken against those misleading the public under the guise of faith. CM Dhami also directed all District Magistrates to regularly inspect government hospitals in their respective districts, ensuring availability of medicines, presence of doctors, condition of medical equipment, and cleanliness. He mentioned that he would personally conduct surprise inspections of hospitals to review these arrangements.

The Chief Minister instructed that post-monsoon, infrastructure development works like roads, bridges, drains, and other constructions should be expedited with a focus on quality and timelines. Regular reviews of flagship schemes of the State and Central Governments should be conducted. He further emphasized prioritizing indigenous products in all government offices and encouraged the public to use local products. Public awareness campaigns should be run to promote this. Continuous efforts should be made towards the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India) and ‘Vocal for Local’.

On this occasion, CM Dhami also thanked the State Election Commission, as well as all officials, employees, and security personnel involved in the electoral process, for successfully conducting the three-tier Panchayat elections peacefully and democratically.

Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Shri Shailesh Bagoli and Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police Shri A.P. Anshuman, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Additional Secretary Shri Banshidhar Tiwari, and virtually by Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Commissioner Kumaon Shri Deepak Rawat, and all District Magistrates.
