Gurus are held in high esteem in Indian culture: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Gurus are held in high esteem in India’s cultural tradition. Gurus give knowledge and play a key role in leading their disciples from darkness to light. In order to honour the Gurus, the occasion of Guru Purnima will be celebrated in schools and colleges every year. The students will be informed about significance of Gurus. He asked the students to join the celebration enthusiastically. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Guru Purnima programme organised at the auditorium of Devi Ahilya University, Indore today.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, referring to episodes of Mahabharata, explained the importance of Guru-Shishya Parampara. He said that Gurus educate to stand for justice and righteousness. They teach the art of living. Guru’s support brings a positive change in the life of his disciples and they achieve success.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, mentioning Acharya Sandipani, said that Gurus inculcate nationalist thinking in their disciples. Acharya Sandipani has instilled the spirit of nation-building through his wisdom. The importance of Gurus should be known to everyone. For this, we have decided to celebrate the grand festival of Guru Purnima in schools and colleges every year with devotion. He said that India has got the status of Vishwa Guru.

Former Kul Guru of Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Shri Mithila Prasad Tripathi said that Gurus have an everlasting importance in life. Guru also removes the darkness of the inner self. Guru imparts life values ​​while providing knowledge.

The decision of the state government to celebrate the great occasion of Guru Purnima every year is commendable. Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Shri K.C. Gupta expressed his views on the importance of Guru-Shishya tradition.

Kul Guru of Devi Ahilya University Prof. Renu Jain gave a welcome speech. Former Kul Gurus and teachers of other universities including Devi Ahilya University were also honoured. Along with this, students who performed brilliantly in the essay competition organised on the occasion of Guru Purnima were also felicitated. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released books written on Indian mathematics. In the programme, he also honoured Anshika Jain, a girl who converted Modi script to Devanagari script and developed software.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, MLAs Sushri Usha Thakur, Smt. Malini Gaur, Shri Madhu Verma and Shri Golu Shukla, Divisional Commissioner Shri Deepak Singh, Police Commissioner Shri Rakesh Gupta, Collector Shri Ashish Singh, Shri Gaurav Randive were also present in the programme.
