“Raksha Sutra Holds Sisters’ Love, Affection, and Blessings – Free Travel for Sisters in Roadways Buses for Two Days on Raksha Bandhan” – CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : On Friday, at a program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, sisters from various parts of Jaipur city tied rakhi to Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma. His wife, Smt. Geeta Sharma, was also present. Addressing the sisters, the Chief Minister said that in our culture, the bond between brothers and sisters is full of affection. A sister always prays to God for her brother’s long life and progress. He noted that sisters begin preparations for Raksha Bandhan, celebrated at the end of the month of Sawan, with full enthusiasm and joy many days in advance.

Sisters said it felt like visiting their parental home to tie rakhi—

During the rakhi tying, joy and excitement were clearly visible on the sisters’ faces. They said that coming to the Chief Minister’s residence felt like coming to their parental home to tie rakhi to their brother. They thanked Chief Minister Shri Sharma for the significant steps taken and various schemes implemented for women’s empowerment in the state. Traditional folk songs of Raksha Bandhan were also sung on the occasion.

Shri Sharma said that the rakhi tied by the sisters is his strong protective shield. This raksha sutra carries the love, affection, and blessings of sisters, which has given him the strength to work with even greater energy.

The Chief Minister announced that keeping the Raksha Bandhan festival in mind, the state government has provided free travel for all sisters in Rajasthan Roadways buses for two days.

He added that sisters, in various roles, are contributing to the progress of the country and the state, and urged them to connect with social causes along with fulfilling family responsibilities.
