5th Anniversary of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Director of Social Justice & Empowerment Administers Oath to Staff

Jaipur, Aug 2025 — On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign), Director and Joint Secretary of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Ashish Modi, administered an oath to all headquarters staff on Wednesday under the flagship campaign to abstain from substance use.

While administering the oath in the courtyard of Ambedkar Bhawan, Shri Modi said that addiction—whether to alcohol, tobacco, or any other intoxicant—destroys our health, family, and future. “It is a slow poison that weakens our thinking ability and leads life into darkness. We must understand that the momentary pleasure from intoxication can bring lifelong sorrow. Therefore, we must make ourselves and those around us aware of this danger,” he said.

Present on the occasion were Commissioner for Persons with Special Needs and Additional Director Shri Kesarlal Meena, Financial Advisor Smt. Anju Singh, Additional Director Shri Harisingh Meena, Smt. Reena Sharma, Shri Sundaram Meena, Shri Ashok Jangid, along with other departmental officers and staff.

It is noteworthy that on the 5th anniversary of the Government of India’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide flagship campaign is being conducted from August 1 to 31, 2025, aiming to reach 30 million people through both physical and online mediums. In this context, at the district level across the state, large-scale participation of students, youth, women, employees, and the general public is being encouraged through online pledge ceremonies held in educational institutions, hotspot areas, and major public places.
