Government Focuses on Public Safety and Law and Order in the State – DGP Shri Rajiv Sharma Reviews Udaipur Range
Jaipur, Aug 2025: In line with the Chief Minister, Shri Bhajanlal Sharma’s vision to maintain law and order in the state and bring transparency in policing, the police department has gone into action mode. The Director General of Police (DGP), Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, has initiated range-level review meetings across the state. Following the first meeting in Bharatpur last week, a crucial review meeting for the Udaipur range was held at the Dungarpur police line conference hall on Monday.

The marathon meeting, which lasted nearly 8 hours, reviewed various aspects, including law and order, crime control, policing quality, cybercrime, pending criminal cases, specific operations, and the implementation of new criminal laws. Important instructions were given to improve performance in these areas.
Instructions to Police Officials
DGP Shri Sharma instructed police officials to take strict action against those who file false cases, as such cases not only waste police time but also tarnish the state’s image. He emphasized that investigations should be conducted impartially and honestly, and swift action should be taken when charges are proven.
Regarding illegal liquor smuggling, the DGP directed police officials to take action with complete vigilance, monitoring chemical suppliers, and attaching the properties of culprits. He asked them to prepare a list of seizures made in 2024-25 and review the liquor smuggling network within seven days.
The DGP also instructed all district police superintendents to identify black spots on roads and take measures to prevent accidents, such as installing reflectors, trimming bushes, and creating zebra crossings.
Monitoring of Criminals and Cybercrime
The DGP instructed police officials to keep a close watch on hardcore criminals, history-sheeters, and previously identified criminals to prevent repeat offenses. He emphasized that any failure to do so would be the responsibility of the concerned police officials.
Regarding cybercrime, the DGP directed swift action in IT Act and cybercrime cases, ensuring that cyber desks established in each district function effectively.
Appreciation and Instructions
The DGP appreciated the innovative ‘Operation Sanskar’ implemented in Dungarpur district, which uses social media to create public awareness. He instructed police officials to ensure that responses sent to courts are accurate, fact-based, prompt, and quality-driven.
The meeting reviewed various cases, including pending court cases, property and body-related crimes, specific offenses, and cases under the IPC/BNS. The DGP emphasized the importance of forensic and e-evidence collection and creating awareness about new criminal laws.
Attendance
The meeting was attended by IG Udaipur Range, Shri Gaurav Shrivastava, and DIG (Personnel) and DGP’s Principal Staff Officer, Shri Kunwar Rashtradeep. SPs, ASPs, deputies, and SHOs from Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Banswara, Pratapgarh, and Dungarpur districts were also present.
Earlier, the DGP was given a guard of honor on his arrival in Dungarpur, and SP Shri Manish Kumar welcomed him.
