Will Help Flood Victims with Full Strength – Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
Chandrapur : Heavy rains have been lashing the district for the past week, causing significant damage due to the bursting of the lake in Chichapally. Citizens have suffered massive losses. I have already instructed the administration and officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected residents of Chichapally. During my inspection today (24th), I observed extensive damage to many houses, spoiled grain, and washed-away clothes and household items. In this time of crisis, there will be no rest until the last needy person is reached. State Forest Minister and District Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar pledged to support the flood victims with full strength.
Mr. Mungantiwar spoke while interacting with the citizens after inspecting the flood-affected area in Chichapally. Present at the meeting were Collector Vinay Gowda G. C., Chief Executive Officer Vivek Johnson, Sub Divisional Officer Sanjay Pawar, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sudhakar Yadav, Tehsildar Vijay Pawar, Police Inspector Sunil Gade, Naib Tehsildar Jitendra Gadewar, Sandhya Gurunule, Dr. Mangesh Gulwade, Rampal Singh, Hanuman Kakade, Gautam Nimgade, Ashok Alam, and Soham Butle.
All flood-affected citizens have been instructed to stay in Zilla Parishad schools where meals will be provided. Flood victims will receive breakfast, tea, and biscuits, along with clothes, oil, salt, chillies, grains, and flour. Mattresses, sheets, and blankets will also be arranged. Rs 5,000 will be provided immediately as first aid to the flood-affected families of Chichapally. Minister Mungantiwar assured that he would seek further assistance after discussing the situation with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Measures will be taken to remove encroachments on village drains and rehabilitate affected areas. Additionally, steps will be taken to widen the bridge, as clarified by the Guardian Minister.
Minister Mungantiwar emphasized that permanent measures will be taken for the burst lake after the rains subside. He also highlighted the need for the health department to check citizens for potential epidemics and to spray bleaching powder in drains, boreholes, wells, etc. The Guardian Minister instructed officials to list citizens whose grains, pots, goats, or bullocks were washed away.
No house will be exempt from panchnama: Instructions have been given to document all damaged houses with photos and videos. Even houses that are currently damaged but may fall later should be included. The villagers themselves should ensure that no house is missed. The panchnama list should be announced in the Gram Panchayat, as stated by Guardian Minister Mungantiwar.
In Chichapally, 224 people and in Pimpalkhut, 109 people have started receiving funds: Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar instructed officials to deposit Rs 5,000 as first aid to flood victims immediately. Tehsildar Vijay Pawar confirmed that messages were received from citizens that the money was being deposited in their accounts. Funds are being deposited in the accounts of 224 people from Chichapally and 109 people from Pimpalkhut.
Distribution of Checks: Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar distributed checks to citizens whose goats and bullocks were washed away in the flood. Devarat Matte from Chichapally received a check of Rs 17,200, Babukhan Pathan Rs 8,000, Vasant Madavi Rs 8,000, Bhaurao Duryodhan Rs 16,000, Pramod Ade Rs 60,000, and Dinesh Lakade Rs 84,000. Additionally, Abhimanyu Atram from Pimpalkhut received a check of Rs 16,000 and Mahadev Atram Rs 28,600.
