Hyderabad, Sept 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday reviewed the progress of development works at the Medaram and Basara temples and directed officials to prepare a comprehensive master plan for both important religious sites.
During the meeting, officials briefed the Chief Minister on the detailed development proposals. Stressing the need for timely completion, Revanth Reddy instructed that all works related to Medaram should be finished within 100 days, ahead of the upcoming Medaram Mahajathra. He said that the action plan must ensure both speed and quality, while keeping in mind the convenience of devotees.
The Chief Minister inspected temple design plans and suggested that natural stone be used in construction to preserve the historic and cultural essence of the temples. He also emphasized the importance of planning smooth entry, exit, and parking facilities to avoid inconvenience for pilgrims.
Looking ahead to future needs, Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare plans for constructing a check dam on the Jampanna river to ensure sufficient water reserves. He noted that such an initiative would safeguard against water shortages during temple festivals and other major events.

Turning to the development of the Basara Gnana Saraswati Temple, Revanth Reddy underscored the importance of respecting local sentiments and traditions. He instructed that the views of local experts and priests should be incorporated into the master plan so that the temple’s cultural and spiritual identity is fully preserved.
The review meeting was attended by Ministers Konda Surekha, Sitakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Adluri Laxman, along with senior officials including the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Srinivas Raju and Endowments Department Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramayyar.
