Chief Minister Attends Tualpui “Lo Zawh” Festival
Khawzawl, Sept 2025: Today, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma attended the Lo Zawhpui festival at Tualpui village. The festival was jointly organized by the Association of Tour Operators Mizoram (ATOM), the Tourism Department, and the Agriculture Department to promote agro-tourism. The event was hosted by Champhai North MLA Er. H. Ginzalala, while the proceedings were chaired by Tourism Department Director Pi Lalrodingi.
Speaking at the function, Chief Minister Lalduhoma said that Tualpui is a village where the community has worked hard and continues to progress with unity. He expressed his appreciation for the villagers’ tireless contributions and said the government values their dedication and the fruits of their labor. He added that with government departments extending support, such efforts can be further enhanced.
The Chief Minister emphasized that while the people cannot own vast plains, they are working to maximize opportunities and improve livelihoods. The road between Tualpui and Champhai will soon be constructed under the Nesids Road project, which is expected to significantly boost the local economy. The Lo Zawh festival is also envisioned as a tourism attraction, drawing more visitors from different regions. Given Tualpui’s scenic beauty and cultural heritage, the village has been selected as a model village, and agreements have already been signed with companies to support development. This will bring multiple benefits to the community, improve infrastructure, preserve cultural traditions, and create new opportunities for economic growth.
Champhai North MLA Er. H. Ginzalala, who hosted the event, said that the long-standing tradition of the Lo Zawh festival handed down by elders is a matter of pride. He expressed happiness that tourism is now being linked with this cultural event. He added that the festival not only revives the community’s cultural identity but also serves as a valuable platform to attract visitors, promote local products, and strengthen livelihoods. He urged everyone to work with dedication and broader vision so that the festival can become more impactful and sustainable in the future.
The event was also addressed by Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana, Forest Minister Pu Lalthansanga, Adviser to the Chief Minister (Political) Pu Lalmuanpuia Punte, and Khawzawl Deputy Commissioner Pu Vanlalthiana.
Today’s Tualpui Lo Zawhpui celebration was attended by government officials, party leaders, and delegations from Aizawl, Khawzawl, and Champhai.
