‘Surtaal Art Festival’ Grandly Inaugurated by Deputy CM Diya Kumari

Jaipur, Sept 2025: The ‘Surtaal Art Festival’, jointly organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) and Anjana Welfare Society, was inaugurated on Tuesday with great grandeur. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari lit the ceremonial lamp to formally open the festival and also visited the art exhibition set up at JKK.

In her address, the Deputy Chief Minister said that such cultural platforms not only encourage artists but also make society more sensitive and aware of art and culture. She emphasized that events like these are essential for preserving and promoting our cultural heritage.

A 10-Day Celebration of Art & Culture
The ‘Surtaal Art Festival’ is being held from 16 September to 25 September. This ten-day celebration presents a unique blend of art and culture, featuring activities such as puppetry and theatre, dance and music, painting, art dialogues, and seminars.

Honouring Eminent Artists
As part of the festival, renowned art personalities from Rajasthan will also be felicitated. Among them are Padma Shri awardee Tilak Geeti, noted artist Yusuf Khan, along with several other distinguished art practitioners.

Focus on Youth Participation
Special workshops will also be organized in government schools and colleges to encourage maximum participation of young students in art and cultural activities.

The Anjana Welfare Society, founded by Mrs. Maya Kulshreshtha, has been actively engaged for the past 13 years in the preservation and promotion of Indian art and culture.
