Cardiac Cath Lab Will Provide Quality Healthcare Services to the Poor – DCM Ajit Pawar
Inauguration of State-of-the-Art Cardiac Cath Lab at Beed District Hospital
Beed, Sept 2025 : The government is committed to providing not only basic infrastructure but also better healthcare services to the people of both urban and rural areas. With the establishment of the cardiac cath lab at the district hospital, poor and underprivileged patients will now have access to superior healthcare services, said Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar. He also assured that additional funds would be sanctioned for the cath lab if required.
At Beed District Hospital, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar inaugurated the state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab, constructed at a cost of ₹18.72 crore. He addressed the gathering on the occasion.
Present at the event were MLAs Vikram Kale and Sandeep Kshirsagar, Dr. Yogesh Kshirsagar, Deputy CM’s Secretary Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, District Collector Vivek Johnson, Superintendent of Police Navneet Kawat, Deputy Director of Health Services Dr. Rekha Gaikwad, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Raut, along with several other dignitaries.
Extending greetings to everyone on the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Day, Deputy CM Pawar said that efforts are being intensified to strengthen healthcare so that every citizen in the state can avail better medical services. The government has decided to establish medical colleges in every district. Along with nursing colleges, paramedical staff, nurses, and medical officers are also being made available across regions.
He highlighted that Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College and Hospital in Ambajogai was Asia’s first medical college, and a master plan has been prepared for its modernization, requiring an allocation of ₹1,100 crore. At Beed District Hospital, land from the police department is being considered for constructing a nursing college and a girls’ hostel, which would require an additional ₹1,000 crore. Pawar assured that there would be no shortage of funds for these crucial health projects, and comprehensive efforts would be undertaken to complete them.
Deputy CM Pawar further said that instructions have been issued to the district administration to conduct surveys of losses caused by excessive rainfall. He added that the Ahmednagar–Beed railway line was being inaugurated today, and efforts would be made to run this service on electric traction to reduce travel time. In the future, this service will be extended to Pune and Mumbai to make transportation more efficient. To enhance sports facilities for players and citizens, ₹25 crore has been sanctioned, and work will begin soon. He also mentioned that surveys are underway to identify land for constructing an airport at the district headquarters.
On this occasion, Deputy CM Pawar unveiled the foundation plaque, cut the ribbon, and inaugurated the cardiac cath lab. He inspected the entire facility and interacted with medical officers to understand the services being provided there.
Several office bearers, officials, and dignitaries from the medical field were present at the event.
About the Cardiac Cath Lab…
The cath lab, of immense importance to the general public, will have round-the-clock cardiologists, anesthetists, and doctors on duty. Facilities for angiography and angioplasty have been provided. The lab also houses a 10-bed fully equipped ICU and has facilities for cardiac echocardiography. A well-equipped operation theatre has been established, and in the future, open-heart surgery facilities will also be introduced at the same center.
