Two industry giants to invest Rs 3,500 crore in UP’s YEIDA region
Sanjiv Goenka Group to invest Rs 3,000 crore in integrated solar hub; Minda Corporation Rs 500 crore
Greater Noida/Lucknow, Sept 2025 : Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as an investment hub. On Wednesday, two major projects received approval in the YEIDA region. The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group will establish a 3 GW solar cell and integrated solar ecosystem hub along with a 60 MW captive solar and energy storage (ESS) plant. With an investment of over Rs 3,000 crore, the project will not only boost India’s renewable energy transition but also position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in solar manufacturing.
On the other hand, Minda Corporation Ltd. has announced the establishment of a wiring harness, sensors, and connectors project with an investment of over Rs 500 crore in Sector-10 of YEIDA.
This unit will develop clusters and cost-effective engineering solutions for the needs of the automobile sector. The project will create over 2,200 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs. Both investments will boost indigenous manufacturing, job creation, and global technology in Uttar Pradesh, generating more than 7,000 employment opportunities in total.
Due to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s investment-friendly policies, improved law and order, and strong infrastructure, UP has now become a preferred investment destination for global companies. In the integrated solar ecosystem hub being set up by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, cutting-edge technologies like TOPCon and Perovskite-Tandem cell technology will be developed, with the capability to deliver 28–30% efficiency. This is expected to reduce the cost of electricity by 10–15%.
The project will create over 1,200 direct and 4,000 indirect jobs. For this, YEIDA has allocated 100 acres of land in Sector-8D and issued a letter of intent. On the other hand, Minda’s investment is being made particularly keeping in mind the rapidly growing market for electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving, and ADAS technology.
