Rural Industries Minister Gajendra Yadav Visits Handloom Weavers’ Association Warehouse

Raipur, Sept 2025 : Rural Industries Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav today visited the warehouse established at L.K. Logistic Park, Phase–02, Dhamtari Road, Raipur, operated by the Chhattisgarh State Handloom Development and Marketing Cooperative Federation Maryadit, Raipur, through Mahamaya Housing Pvt. Ltd., Dumartarai.

On this occasion, Rural Industries Secretary Shri Shyam Dhawade informed the Minister that around 60 varieties of textiles are being produced by the state’s weavers. These include uniform cloth, ready-made uniforms, thread sheets, dari (rugs), cellular deal mosquito nets, jacquard curtains, school bags, cloth, polyester sarees, medical sheets, and green cloth.

At present, the Federation has in stock about 4 lakh colored sheets, 1.69 lakh woollen blankets, 1.90 lakh polyester sarees, 18,000 daris, along with other handloom fabrics and materials—together amounting to a textile stock worth nearly ₹225 crore.

Hon’ble Minister Shri Yadav instructed officials to ensure that for supplies to various state government departments, only the textiles produced by state weavers are used. He emphasized that this will promote the state’s cottage and handloom industries while providing local employment opportunities for weavers.

The Minister’s OSD and other senior officials were also present during the inspection.
