Tourism Commissioner and Environmental & Commerce Minister of Indian Embassy, Tokyo, Inaugurate Rajasthan Pavilion at Japan Tourism Expo Aichi

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Rajasthan Tourism Commissioner Smt. Rukmani Riyer and Smt. Debjani Chakraborty, Environmental & Commerce Minister at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, inaugurated the Rajasthan pavilion at the Japan Tourism Expo Aichi held in Tokyo on Thursday.

Prior to this, the Tourism Commissioner participated in the expo’s inauguration alongside the Japan Tourism Board, ministers from other countries, and senior officials. She engaged in one-on-one discussions with JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) members, including chairpersons and top travel agents, as well as officials from the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), along with Additional Director Mr. Anand Tripathi, FHTR members Mr. Tarun Bansal and Mr. Hemant Mittal, and co-exhibitor Mr. Deepak Dhayal. During these discussions, she shared insights about Rajasthan’s prominent tourist destinations and products, and also presented a film showcasing the state’s attractions.

Rajasthan Pavilion Becomes Center of Attraction
With a vibrant display of Rajasthan’s tourism highlights and products, the Rajasthan pavilion has emerged as a key attraction at the expo. Live handicraft demonstrations at the stand are drawing large crowds.

During the event, the Rajasthan tourism delegation also interacted with the Japanese media, providing details about the grandeur of Rajasthan and its unique tourism offerings. Several business meetings were conducted simultaneously.

Japanese Bloggers and Indo-Philes at the Pavilion
Japanese bloggers, including Madhu, and FHTR members visited the Rajasthan stand and participated in folk performances. Many Japanese bloggers and Indo-philes who appreciate Rajasthan visited the pavilion throughout the day.

Palace on Wheels: A Special Attraction
Among Japan’s travel agents, there was notable interest in the Palace on Wheels luxury train and Rajasthan’s heritage hotels, especially in a country famous for high-speed bullet trains.

Rising Prospects for Japanese Tourists
Japanese travel agents showed enthusiasm for Rajasthan’s diverse architecture, scenic landscapes, and rich art and cultural heritage, which is expected to translate into an increase in tourist arrivals from Japan in the near future.
