Deputy CM Diya Kumari Participates in Two-Day ‘Abhaneri Festival’, Enjoys Cultural Programs and Visits Chand Baori

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari participated in the ongoing two-day ‘Abhaneri Festival’ at the world-renowned tourist destination of Abhaneri on Saturday. She enjoyed the cultural programs held on the second day of the festival and also visited the iconic Chand Baori stepwell.

While observing Chand Baori, the Deputy CM interacted with officials present to learn about its history. She also visited the Harshad Mata Temple near Chand Baori and performed rituals on the occasion of Navratri. The temple priest welcomed her by draping a chunari on her.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari also attended the cultural programs organized as part of the Abhaneri Festival and particularly enjoyed the performance presented by Padma Shri Anwar Khan. She interacted with Padma Shri Anwar Khan and his team, appreciating their efforts and extending a warm welcome.

‘Chand Baori is Truly Magnificent, Beautiful, and Grand’

Speaking to the media, Deputy CM Diya Kumari said that Chand Baori is truly magnificent, beautiful, and grand. She urged everyone to visit this heritage site, experience its grandeur, and spread awareness about it worldwide. She also highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasizes the promotion of India’s tourist destinations during his visits. She added that India and Rajasthan boast many beautiful and grand tourist sites, and citizens should visit them.

Deputy CM Kumari emphasized that the Tourism Department and her efforts would focus on encouraging tourists visiting Jaipur and other places in the state to also visit Abhaneri, thereby increasing tourist footfall in the region.

Promoting ‘Vocal for Local’ by Making Earthen Lamps

During her visit to Abhaneri village, Deputy CM Diya Kumari promoted the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. She stopped at a local potter’s place, interacted with him, and personally made earthen lamps (diyas). She encouraged people to adopt locally made products and support local artisans by purchasing their products.

With Diwali approaching, she urged everyone to light earthen lamps at home and embrace indigenous products. She also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promotes the same initiative to boost local and indigenous products across the country.
