Taste of Korea Reaches Delhi: ‘Amrit Modak’ and ‘Amrit Pickle’ in High Demand
Raipur, Oct 2025 : At the Saras Mela 2025 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the products of Korea district, namely ‘Amrit Modak’ and ‘Korea Amrit Pickle’, have gained a special recognition in the nation’s capital. The products made by women from self-help groups (SHGs) in Korea district have become a highlight of the fair. The aroma and taste of Amrit Modak and Korea Amrit Pickle have captivated visitors.
Two self-help groups from the district achieved remarkable success at the fair. The Jyoti Mahila Self-Help Group sold over 200 kg of Amrit Modak, earning ₹88,000, while the Jagruti Mahila Self-Help Group sold 260 kg of pickles and 36 kg of papad-badi, generating an income exceeding ₹1 lakh.
Vendors, buyers, and tourists at the fair appreciated the quality and taste of Korea district’s products and expressed interest in placing future orders. Women from these SHGs are bringing products made from local resources and traditional methods to a national platform, contributing to women’s empowerment and boosting the rural economy.
Collector Mrs. Chandan Tripathi stated that the administration is making every effort to enhance the economic independence and social empowerment of women working in district SHGs. The goal is not limited to economic gains but also includes strengthening the family and educational environment of women.
