CM encourages children dressed as characters from the Ramayana at a stall
Jalaun, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing a public gathering in Jalaun on Thursday, launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav. He said the SP leader “sees communalism in India’s saints and pioneers of social justice but finds messengers of peace in rioters.” CM Yogi added that the double-engine government has shown such “so-called messengers of peace,” who threaten the safety of daughters and traders, their rightful place. “We have made it clear where rioters and those supporting criminals belong,” he said.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 305 development projects worth over Rs 1,900 crore for Jalaun district. He also honoured beneficiaries of various welfare schemes and extended festive greetings ahead of Diwali.
The Chief Minister said that during the ongoing festival season, some people were under the illusion that they could trigger riots like in the SP regime to disrupt Hindu celebrations. “But they forgot this is the BJP’s double-engine government,” he said. “This government doesn’t bow before rioters—it makes rioters bow down, ensuring that every festival is celebrated safely and with dignity.” He recalled that before 2017, festive occasions were often marred by violence and fear.
Taking a sharp dig at the Samajwadi Party, CM Yogi said that the SP never respected memorials dedicated to pioneers of social justice. “They even talked about demolishing them,” he remarked, adding that after returning to power in 2012, the SP government created “one mafia per district,” spreading lawlessness and endangering public safety. “These people looted the youth’s employment and compromised the safety of daughters. Their leaders even justified crimes by saying, ‘Ladke hain, galti kar dete hain,’” the Chief Minister said.
The CM said that the socialist movement once led by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Acharya Narendra Dev, Janeshwar Mishra, and Mohan Singh has now degenerated into a hub of goons, mafia, and criminals. “Before 2017, people used to say ‘Dekh Sapai, bitiya ghabrai (Daughters get scared after seeing a SP member),’ and ‘If there’s an SP flag on a car, there’s an SP goon inside,’” the CM remarked.
He said that under the SP regime, the poor were deprived of basic needs—there was no ration, no housing, no toilets, no relief work, no development, and no jobs. “But once the people gave their mandate to the double-engine government, schemes for the upliftment of the poor began reaching every doorstep,” he said. CM Yogi highlighted that over two crore youth have found employment through MSMEs, while 60 lakh youth have secured jobs or job guarantees through large-scale investments.
Issuing a stern warning, the Chief Minister said, “If anyone exploits farmers, the poor, the downtrodden, women, or traders, action will be taken that generations will remember.” He accused the SP of creating lawlessness and an identity crisis in society, saying, “These people provoke caste-based conflicts to divide communities. Don’t let them succeed.”
Reiterating his message of unity, CM Yogi said, “Batenge toh katenge, ek hain to safe hain.” He urged people not to fall for divisive mindsets and to stand united against injustice and oppression.
CM Yogi described Jalaun as the sacred land of Sage Jalwan and Lord Ved Vyas, rich in mythological and historical significance. He said that freedom fighters from Kalpi played a vital role in India’s struggle for independence, while Kalpi’s handmade paper has given the district a distinct identity and special recognition under the ODOP scheme. Jalaun, blessed with five rivers—Yamuna, Chambal, Sindh, Kuwari, and Pahuj—collectively known as Panchanada, is on the path of transformation, he added.
The Chief Minister said that with the Bundelkhand Expressway passing through the district and the Panchanada project being developed, Jalaun’s fields will soon become the most fertile in the region. Thanking the people for supporting development-oriented representatives, he announced that Jalaun has received projects worth ₹1,900 crore as a gift.
He remarked a good government ensures development, employment, security, and self-reliance. “Today, under the BJP’s double-engine government, if anyone dares to threaten a girl’s safety or grab land from the poor, Yamdoot (messengers of death) will be waiting at the next crossroads,” he warned. Those attempting to spread anarchy or disrupt festivals will face strict action under the police’s zero-tolerance policy. “There is no place for mafia or anarchy in Uttar Pradesh,” he affirmed.
Highlighting the transformation of the state, CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh is setting new benchmarks for growth. “Before 2017, UP faced an identity crisis. People hesitated to say they were from Etawah, Jalaun, Auraiya, Jhansi, or Bundelkhand. A UP youth meant unemployment. But today, when someone says they are from Uttar Pradesh, the listener smiles with respect,” he said. The Chief Minister added that those who once turned UP into a BIMARU state did so because of their own ‘sick mentality,’ which had kept the state backward.
Yogi said that the double-engine government has transformed UP from a sick state into a developed one. UP has emerged as the growth engine of India’s economy. Now youth are getting employment and government jobs within the state. Farmers are receiving facilities, traders are getting protection, and common people are getting relief from inflation through GST reforms under PM Modi’s leadership. Every section of society is benefiting from government schemes.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused the former Samajwadi Party government of prioritizing family interests over public welfare, alleging that it looted state resources, spread anarchy, and embezzled development funds. He said SP leaders never had time to visit districts or inspect development projects and lacked the vision to provide housing for the poor, organize collective marriages for daughters, or create jobs through industry. “During the SP regime, industries were shutting down and rioters ruled the streets. Bad governance breeds such chaos, as seen before 2017. The Chacha-Bhatija duo used to step out only for extortion,” CM Yogi remarked.
The Chief Minister said that under the double-engine government, development is reaching every section of society without discrimination. He emphasized that social awareness is the foundation of progress and security. “If society is vigilant, no goon can grab land, threaten a daughter’s safety, or block access to development,” he said. CM Yogi urged citizens to raise their concerns with public representatives or the administration, and if unresolved, to approach the in-charge minister. Persistent issues, he said, can be reported through the IGRS portal or the CM Helpline.
Highlighting the vision for a developed Uttar Pradesh aligned with PM Modi’s goal of a Viksit Bharat, CM Yogi said that 100% utilization of development funds must go toward genuine progress. “The state will develop when Jalaun develops. For a developed Jalaun, every village, block, district, and municipal body must become self-reliant,” he said.
He added that continuous discussions in the UP Assembly for 28 hours and consultations with representatives at regional and district levels reflect the government’s commitment to inclusive growth. Through the Samarth Portal, the state is inviting suggestions from youth, farmers, citizens, intellectuals, traders, entrepreneurs, and women for the Vision Document UP-2047. “I urge everyone to share their ideas for a developed Uttar Pradesh,” the Chief Minister said.
The ceremony was attended by Water Resources Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, District Panchayat President Dr. Ghanshyam Anuragi, MLAs Moolchandra Niranjan, Gaurishankar Verma, Vinod Chaturvedi, former Union Minister Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, BJP District President Urvija Dixit, Urai Municipality Chairperson Girija Chaudhary, Neha Punit Mittal (Jalaun), Pradeep Kumar Gupta (Konch), and Arvind Yadav (Kalpi).
