Govind Gupta Takes Charge as Rajasthan ACB Chief, Vows Zero-Tolerance Against Corruption
New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Senior IPS officer Govind Gupta on Monday assumed charge as the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour at the ACB headquarters in Jaipur.
Speaking to officers after taking charge, Gupta reaffirmed that the Bureau would continue to function under a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, in line with the directives of the Rajasthan government. He stressed that the ACB’s credibility and effectiveness depend on public trust, which must be continuously strengthened.
“No matter how much technology advances or how complex our work becomes, people must have confidence in our system and feel safe to approach us,” Gupta said. “Our arrangements must be robust enough to inspire that trust. Technology is an integral part of modern investigation.”
The new ACB chief underlined the importance of training and skill development to keep pace with evolving challenges. “When we receive credible information and conduct successful operations, our investigations must be backed by solid evidence,” he said. “Continuous training to stay updated with new technologies is essential. Technology keeps evolving, and we must keep learning.”
Gupta added that the ACB has dedicated technology and cyber wings and works in collaboration with private experts whenever required. “New officers are already quite technology-savvy, and we are encouraging them to become even more proficient. We have both government teams and private professionals supporting our investigations,” he noted.
Responding to a question about catching both big and small “crocodiles” of corruption, Gupta said, “The law does not differentiate between big and small offenders. A criminal is a criminal, and an accused is an accused. It is our duty to act impartially, without categorising anyone. The law makes no such distinction.”
Earlier in the day, Additional Director General Smita Srivastava welcomed Gupta with a bouquet before the new DG was given a guard of honour in the presence of senior officers and staff.
Reiterating the Bureau’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and teamwork, Gupta said that enhancing public confidence will remain the top priority. “Concrete measures will be taken to make the Bureau’s information system more effective and to raise public awareness,” he said.
Gupta announced that the Bureau’s toll-free helpline (1064) and WhatsApp number (94135-02834) will be widely publicised, allowing citizens to easily report corruption-related complaints.
He assured that no innocent person will be harassed, while those involved in corrupt practices will face strict and swift action.
Appealing to the people of Rajasthan, Gupta said, “This fight against corruption is a collective one. I urge every citizen to actively participate by reporting any such cases to the Bureau. Our helplines are operational 24×7.”
