PM Modi Targets Rahul Gandhi and Grand Alliance in Bihar Rally, Accuses RJD-Congress of Betraying the State and Mocking Faith

Patna, Oct 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Grand Alliance, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, accusing them of betraying Bihar and insulting the sentiments of its people. Addressing a massive election rally in Chhapra, the Prime Minister said the opposition’s internal discord was more significant than their criticism of him.

“The real news of this election is not the insults hurled at me, but the deep internal conflict between the RJD and Congress. Their relationship is like oil and water — they can never truly mix,” Modi said. “Reports from across Bihar show that RJD workers are tearing down Congress posters, while Congress workers are openly expressing resentment against the RJD. The only thing uniting them is their lust for power.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks came a day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement that “Modi can dance for votes,” which triggered widespread political debate. Without naming Rahul Gandhi directly, Modi said such remarks showed the opposition’s lack of respect for public life. “These insults don’t hurt me — they expose their mentality. They cannot tolerate a poor man’s son serving the nation,” he said.

Taking a sharp dig at the opposition’s record in governance, Modi said, “The RJD and Congress ruled Bihar for decades, yet they left behind poverty, lawlessness, and corruption. They betrayed the trust of the people. For years, Bihar was known for jungle raj — for crime and fear instead of development and opportunity.”

Recalling the 1998 Champa Biswas case, which he described as symbolic of that era’s anarchy, the Prime Minister said, “What happened to the wife of a Dalit IAS officer during that time sends shivers down the spine of today’s youth. She wrote to the Governor, pleading for justice, while the Chief Minister’s office had become a den of criminals. That was the dark era of RJD rule.”

Appealing to first-time voters, Modi urged them to use their vote wisely. “Your parents’ votes ended jungle raj and brought good governance to Bihar. Now it’s your responsibility to turn that governance into prosperity. One vote from you can shape Bihar’s future,” he told the crowd.

The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of repeatedly insulting Bihar and its people. “In Karnataka, Congress leaders mock Biharis. In Tamil Nadu, their ally DMK harasses Bihari workers. A former Congress Chief Minister of Punjab even said he wouldn’t allow Biharis into his state — and at that moment, a daughter of the Gandhi family, now an MP, was applauding in support,” Modi said, drawing loud applause.

Highlighting Bihar’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy, Modi praised the contributions of Bhojpuri icon Bhikhari Thakur and the state’s vibrant festivals. “Bihar is the land of faith, art, and revolution. Bhikhari Thakur immortalized the struggles of this land in his songs. The Chhath Mahaparv is a symbol of devotion, equality, and harmony — it is Bihar’s pride and a festival of humanity,” he said.

The Prime Minister announced that efforts were underway to have the Chhath Mahaparv recognized by UNESCO as part of the World Heritage list. “We want the world to acknowledge Chhath as a celebration of human values and devotion,” he said. Modi then accused the RJD-Congress alliance of disrespecting the festival. “For them, the worship of Chhathi Maiya is a spectacle. They mock women who fast and offer prayers to the Sun God while standing in the river. Will the mothers and sisters of Bihar forgive this insult? I know they won’t,” he asserted.

Recounting his recent visit to the Caribbean, the Prime Minister said he felt Bihar’s global presence during his trip. “When I visited Trinidad and Tobago, I felt as if I was standing on the ghats of Varanasi or Chhapra. People there welcomed us in Bhojpuri — it was a proud moment for every Bihari. Bihar’s culture has spread across the world,” he said.

Turning to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Modi accused the opposition of hypocrisy and fear. “After a wait of 500 years, the grand Ram Temple now stands tall. Millions of devotees have visited Ayodhya, but have you seen any Congress or RJD leaders there? They fear losing their vote bank. Those who cannot respect faith can never build a strong nation,” he declared.

In closing, Prime Minister Modi urged the people of Bihar to reject the “opportunistic alliance” of the Congress and RJD. “They are together only to grab power, not to serve the people. The NDA government has given Bihar highways, airports, AIIMS, and new industries. We will continue working for Bihar’s youth, farmers, and women,” he said.

With slogans of “Modi, Modi” echoing across the venue, the Prime Minister ended his address with an appeal to voters: “This election is about choosing between development and disorder. Vote for progress, vote for a bright future — vote for the NDA.”
