MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora Takes Strong Stand Over Power Cuts in Faizullaganj, Summons Officials and Orders Immediate Action

Lucknow, May 2026 : MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora has taken a strict stance on the ongoing unscheduled power cuts in the Faizullaganj area of the state capital, summoning senior electricity department officials and expressing strong displeasure over the situation.

Acting on repeated complaints from residents, Dr. Bora called the Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer of the electricity department to account for the disruptions that have persisted for the past three days in the locality.

Areas such as Krishna Lok Colony, Preeti Nagar, Shyam Vihar Colony, and several parts of Faizullaganj have been facing frequent electricity outages, causing significant hardship to residents amid intense summer heat. The situation had led to growing public anger and distress, prompting continuous representations to the MLA.

Following these complaints, Dr. Bora escalated the matter to the Energy Minister, the Chairman of the Power Corporation, and the Managing Director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, urging immediate intervention.

On Tuesday afternoon, the MLA held a detailed review with department officials and made it clear that the public should not be forced to suffer due to administrative or technical failures, especially during extreme heat conditions.

He directed officials to ensure a swift and permanent resolution to the power supply disruptions. Emphasising public sentiment, he said the administration must restore residents’ confidence by guaranteeing uninterrupted electricity supply in the area.

Dr. Bora also instructed the department to investigate cases of electricity theft in the region and take strict action against those responsible, stating that such illegal activities were contributing to supply disruptions and causing inconvenience to honest consumers.

He warned that such issues must not recur in the future and stressed that any negligence in essential public services would not be tolerated.

Responding to the concerns, electricity department officials informed the MLA that the recent disruptions were due to a sudden surge in electricity demand during the peak summer season, which had led to certain technical issues in the system.

They assured him that technical teams and field staff were working round the clock to stabilise supply and that the situation would be normalised soon.

Reiterating his commitment to public welfare, Dr. Bora said that the government would continue to take proactive steps to resolve issues related to basic amenities and ensure accountability at every level.

“No negligence will be tolerated when it comes to public services. I will continue to take effective action to resolve the issues faced by residents of my constituency,” he said.

The review meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Manoj Kumar and Executive Engineer Pankaj Gupta along with other departmental officials.
