New Delhi, Nov 2025 : For the upcoming by-elections to the Delhi Municipal Corporation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates filed their nomination papers today in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta. On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that every BJP worker is dedicated to the cause of public service. She added that this by-election is not merely an electoral process but an opportunity to choose clean, transparent, and development-oriented governance in Delhi.
On Monday, the Chief Minister participated in the nomination programmes of Smt. Anita Jain, the party’s candidate from Ward 56 (Shalimar Bagh-B), and Smt. Veena Asija, the candidate from Ward 65 (Ashok Vihar). Before filing nominations, the Chief Minister inaugurated the election offices and participated in the traditional havan and puja ceremonies in both wards.
Thereafter, she joined a roadshow and addressed a large public gathering, stating that the party has nominated hardworking, experienced, and committed women candidates from both wards. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that they would fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
Speaking about Shalimar Bagh, the Chief Minister noted that the area has long been recognised for its vibrant religious and social life. She said that when she was given the opportunity to serve as MLA and later as Chief Minister through the blessings of the people, she viewed it not as a personal milestone but as a testament to their trust and respect. Expressing her gratitude for the unwavering dedication and support of party workers and residents, she added that this collective strength has made Shalimar Bagh one of the most organised and progressive constituencies in Delhi.
The Chief Minister informed that in the past eight months, not only in Shalimar Bagh but across Delhi, long-pending development projects have gained new momentum. Resolving the issues of families living in slum clusters, easing administrative challenges faced by traders, ensuring a safe environment for women and girls, and establishing smart classrooms and computer labs in schools have all been given top priority. In the Shalimar Bagh constituency as well, long-delayed projects such as schools, community halls, and road development are being completed at a rapid pace.
The Chief Minister stated that the people of Delhi are well aware of the opposition’s false promises and misleading propaganda. “We do not make empty announcements; we deliver results,” she asserted. Delhi has witnessed how the Bharatiya Janata Party, both at the Centre and in the Municipal Corporation, has set new benchmarks in development.
She appealed to the citizens of Delhi to vote in large numbers for the BJP candidates in the elections scheduled for 30 November. The Chief Minister also informed that the BJP has nominated strong and capable candidates in all 12 wards for the MCD by-elections. The party is confident of a stellar performance and of once again earning the trust of the people of Delhi.
