Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Announces Compensation for Victims of the Red Fort Blast

The Government Stands with the Bereaved Families; ‘Every Life is Precious’, Says the Chief Minister

Families of the Deceased to Receive ₹10 Lakh Each; Injured Victims to Receive Appropriate Compensation

New Delhi, Nov 2025 : Expressing deep condolences to the families affected by the tragic explosion near the Red Fort, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta has announced compensation for the families of those who lost their lives and for the injured. The Chief Minister described the incident as extremely tragic and heart-rending, adding that the untimely loss of any life is an irreparable tragedy for the family, one that can never truly be compensated. She affirmed that the Delhi Government stands firmly with every affected family in this difficult time.

The Chief Minister announced an ex gratia payment of ₹10 lakh each to the families of the deceased. She also directed that all injured victims receive prompt medical treatment and financial assistance, ensuring that no victim suffers due to lack of care. Those permanently disabled due to the blast will receive ₹5 lakh, the seriously injured ₹2 lakh, and those with minor injuries ₹20,000.

She stated that the incident near the Red Fort is not only a deep shock for the affected families but also for the entire city of Delhi. She added that all Delhiites stand united in this moment of grief and assured that the government will ensure no family feels abandoned. The Chief Minister has instructed the concerned departments to expedite the relief distribution process and ensure that no eligible person faces any delay in receiving assistance.
