Nuapada Bypoll 2025: Vote Counting Concludes Peacefully; CEO Odisha Expresses Gratitude
Bhubaneswar, Nov 2025 : The vote counting process for the 71–Nuapada Assembly Constituency by-election concluded peacefully on Friday, with all 29 prescribed rounds—covering both EVM and postal ballots—completed smoothly and transparently. At the end of the counting, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shri Jay Dholakia emerged in the lead, securing a total of 1,23,869 votes.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, Shri R. S. Gopalan, IAS, expressed his appreciation for the efficient, disciplined, and transparent conduct of the entire counting exercise. He lauded the dedicated efforts of the counting personnel, observers, District Election Officer, Returning Officer, and police officials, all of whom ensured that the process remained free from disruptions.
The CEO also extended his thanks to all contesting candidates, their authorized representatives, media personnel, and most importantly, the voters of Nuapada for their cooperation and peaceful participation throughout the by-election and counting process.
