Paper leaks, recruitment scams, and corruption: Youth pushed into uncertainty under 8 years of BJP rule: Sanjay Singh

Lucknow/Sultanpur, Nov 2025 : On the fourth day of the Aam Aadmi Party’s “Provide Jobs – Provide Social Justice” padyatra against unemployment and injustice in Uttar Pradesh, thousands of people joined the march from Kurebhar to Katka. At every turn and every village, massive crowds made it evident that the people of the state now want change.

In Kurebhar, youth met MP Sanjay Singh and urged him to raise their demands for employment in Parliament. At Patna Chauraha and near the Purvanchal Expressway, ASHA workers gave a warm welcome to their leader. The padyatra also received enthusiastic responses in Kurebhar Bazaar, Guftarganj Bazaar, Babuganj, and Katra Bazaar.

The 200-km padyatra from Ayodhya to Prayagraj reached Kurebhar for the night halt on Friday, where an emotional connection between the people and the movement was clearly visible. Ignoring the cold and late hours, residents came out in large numbers, reflecting the deep trust and hope people have in the Aam Aadmi Party.

Upon reaching Sultanpur, MP Sanjay Singh became emotional and said, “Sultanpur is my home district. The suffering here is not just numbers for me—it’s personal pain.” He added that in the last eight years the district’s basic infrastructure has deteriorated severely.

Sanjay Singh said, “The roads of Sultanpur do not look like those of a district but narrate a story of neglect. The roads are so broken that one could spend a year trying to count potholes. People travel daily in fear of accidents. What could be a bigger sign of collapse for any district? Electricity cuts are another major crisis—barely 10 hours of power supply in 24 hours. Children cannot study and shopkeepers cannot work. Long outages have disrupted ordinary life.”

During the padyatra, Sanjay Singh listened to the issues of ASHA workers and assured them that he would raise their voice from the streets to Parliament. He said, “ASHA workers save women’s lives during their most vulnerable moments, yet their honorarium is extremely low. This is injustice.” He promised that whenever he got the opportunity to speak in Parliament, he would strongly raise their concerns.

Throughout the route, Vanshraj Dubey, Suresh Chandra, Rakesh Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Raunak Singh, Devansh Singh, Brijesh Singh, and Ramshankar Gautam welcomed the padyatra at different points in Sultanpur.

Speaking on the collapsing healthcare system in Sultanpur, Sanjay Singh said, “From the district hospital to CHCs, the situation is alarming—no medicines, no tests, no doctors. People are battling the system more than the disease.” He recalled the incident at the Government Medical College where “X-ray reports were issued on paper without actual tests,” which exposed the state of healthcare across Uttar Pradesh.

Paper leaks have become the identity of the state — youths’ dreams shattered over 8 years
Sanjay Singh said that in the last eight years not a single teacher recruitment has been completed in Uttar Pradesh. Whether UPTET, police recruitment, or the RO/ARO exams—almost every exam was cancelled due to paper leaks or corruption. “Paper leak has now become UP’s identity. This shows the recruitment system has completely collapsed. Until strict action, transparency, and accountability are ensured, the future of youth cannot be secure.”

MP Sanjay Singh said this is why, when the padyatra reached Sultanpur, thousands joined the movement to raise their voice against unemployment, inflation, and collapsing infrastructure. “Sultanpur’s struggle is my personal struggle, and this movement for people’s rights will continue,” he said.
