Lucknow/Pratapgarh, Nov 2025 : The “Give Employment–Give Social Justice” padyatra moved ahead in Pratapgarh on its ninth day with tremendous public support. Led by senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, the padyatra began at 10 a.m. from Aashirwad Banquet and reached Vishwanathganj Bazaar passing through Bhagat Singh Statue Crossing, Bhupia Mau, and HPS Vatika. The way people poured onto the streets to welcome the padyatra proved that it has now become the voice of people’s expectations rather than just a political programme. Whether youth or women, farmers or weavers—everyone joined the padyatra and strongly supported Sanjay Singh’s call. Lawyers, workers, small traders, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Shiksha Mitras, Shiksha Anudeshaks and employees demanding restoration of the old pension scheme also participated with great enthusiasm and gave unprecedented support to the padyatra throughout the route.

During the “Give Employment–Give Social Justice” padyatra, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that “Under the BJP government, Uttar Pradesh has been pushed into the darkness of unemployment, which is not only an economic crisis but a direct blow to the confidence of the youth. Whether it is the incident of Shiksha Mitras shaving their heads in Lucknow or lathi-charge on youth demanding jobs—such incidents have pushed the youth of the state into despair. Due to the government’s failures, the youth have been cheated repeatedly in the name of exam-after-exam paper leak. Meanwhile, farmers, weavers, small industries and cottage industries kept collapsing because of the government’s wrong policies.”
The AAP MP said that this padyatra has been launched to secure the rights of the youth wandering for employment.

Sanjay Singh said that the second major issue of the padyatra, “Give Social Justice”, has been included because today, in Uttar Pradesh, the burden of injustice on Dalits, backward classes and the deprived has increased so much that attempts are made to suppress their voices from the village square to the city crossroads. At times the head of a storyteller is forcibly shaved because he belongs to a backward caste, and at other times a CRPF jawan is not allowed to ride a mare because he belongs to a Dalit community. In Raebareli, Hariom Valmiki is killed in a mob lynching incident. AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that under the nose of Yogi Adityanath, in Kakori, inhuman treatment is done to an elderly person from the Pasi community, and atrocities against Dalit and backward women have become common in Uttar Pradesh.

MP Sanjay Singh said this is not merely administrative failure; it is the result of a mindset that hurts the soul of the Constitution. The state government has become completely insensitive. Our padyatra has set out to show a mirror to this system — and until Dalits, backward, oppressed and deprived communities in Uttar Pradesh receive equality and respect, and until the disheartened youth get assured employment, our struggle will continue.
