Telangana to Fill 40,000 Government Vacancies in 2.5 Years: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Dec 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced that the state government will fill nearly 40,000 government job vacancies over the next two-and-a-half years, reaffirming his administration’s focus on employment generation and youth empowerment.

Addressing a large public gathering in Husnabad of Siddipet district, the Chief Minister said that the Congress government had already recruited 60,000 employees within its first year in office, calling it a record achievement and a clear break from the policies of the previous regime.

The visit to Husnabad formed part of the celebrations marking two years of the Congress government in Telangana. During the event, Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for various development works worth Rs 262 crore, aimed at strengthening infrastructure and civic amenities in the region.

Recalling the political significance of the day, the Chief Minister said December 3 holds historic importance for Telangana. “On this day in 2023, the people of Telangana ended the rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi. It is also a day when we remember Telangana martyr Srikantha Chary, who sacrificed his life for the formation of the state,” he said.

He asserted that the Congress government is committed to fulfilling the dreams of the Telangana martyrs by creating employment opportunities and delivering welfare benefits directly to the people. “Providing jobs to the youth is the real tribute to those who laid down their lives for this state,” he added.

Launching a sharp attack on the previous BRS government, Revanth Reddy alleged massive failures in infrastructure development. He pointed specifically to the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, stating that despite being constructed at a massive cost of nearly Rs 1 lakh crore, key structures had collapsed within just three years. “Congress governments built large projects across the country, and those structures have stood strong for decades. This shows the difference in governance,” he said.

Taking further aim at the BRS, the Chief Minister accused the previous rulers of neglecting Husnabad Assembly constituency for ten years. “The BRS concentrated development only in Gajwel, Siddipet, and Sircilla. Husnabad was completely ignored,” he alleged.

He also said that not a single double-bedroom house was sanctioned for the poor in Husnabad during the BRS rule and accused the opposition leaders of using the region only for political sentiment during elections.

Highlighting the welfare initiatives of his government, Revanth Reddy said the Congress administration has waived farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh per farmer, freeing lakhs of cultivators from crushing debt. “We have already spent Rs 1.40 lakh crore on farmers’ welfare after coming to power,” he said.

He further stated that the government has spent Rs 8,000 crore on free bus travel for women in RTC buses, calling it a transformative step for women’s mobility and economic participation.

Listing additional measures, he said self-help groups have been empowered as partners in RTC operations, new ration cards have been issued to eligible families, and fine rice distribution has been launched across the state. The government is also providing 200 units of free electricity to nearly 50 lakh families, the Chief Minister said.

Expressing confidence in the future, Revanth Reddy said that the “people’s government” would remain in power for the next ten years and announced plans to construct 20 lakh houses for the poor during this period.

He also urged villagers to elect capable sarpanches who can work in coordination with MLAs and ministers to accelerate rural development.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Sardar Sarvai Papanna, recalling his struggle for the empowerment of backward communities in Husnabad. He also acknowledged Karimnagar’s historic role in the Telangana movement, noting that Sonia Gandhi had promised statehood for Telangana in Karimnagar — a promise that was later fulfilled.

Revanth Reddy concluded by informing the gathering that he had travelled directly to Husnabad from Delhi after extending invitations to Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the upcoming Telangana Rising Global Summit.
