There is diversity within the Sikh community. The Sikligar community provided weapons to the Sikh community. The Banjara community kept its devotion towards the Sikh Gurus and their thoughts alive. As per the principle of “Ek Omkar Satnam”, the spirit of unity in diversity has been imprinted on society through the medium of Langar, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Such a great sacrifice for religion is not found anywhere in the world. Even after sacrifice, the words of humanity and prayers for humanity in Gurbani touch everyone’s heart. Especially, countless verses of Sant Namdev Maharaj are included in Gurbani and he is worshipped with the same humility – this is even more significant, he said.
With the aim of ensuring that this glorious history of the Sikh community reaches every section of society, grand programs are being organized in Nanded and Navi Mumbai–Kharghar to pay tribute, he added.
Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s contribution for humanity, truth and protection of religion is invaluable – Union Minister Nitin Gadkari
The contribution of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji for humanity, truth and protection of religion is known to all. The promise quoted in the Bhagavad Gita was reaffirmed by Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib through the protection of religion. Whenever unrighteousness overpowers righteousness and attacks occur, I will rush to protect – this assurance was given by Lord Krishna in the Gita, Union Minister Gadkari recalled in his speech. About three and a half centuries ago, the Mughals attacked religion and culture themselves. This attack was repelled by Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh through his sacrifice. Through this grand event, the Maharashtra government has carried this important historical episode to the new generation. The inspiration, work and achievements of Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh Sahib will remain inspirational for future generations, said Union Minister Gadkari. Through this program, devotees from across the state who have faith in Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji were brought together – a commendable achievement, he added.
Maharashtra and Punjab stopped the attacks on Indian culture and religion – Sant Gyani Harnam Singh Ji
India, which respected all streams of thought, diversity, religions, castes and sects, was attacked by the Mughals who committed severe atrocities. They tried to destroy the harmony of Hindu religion. While paying tribute to the bravery with which Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji had to sacrifice himself for the protection of religion, the cruelty of the Mughals can never be forgotten, said Sant Gyani Harnam Singh Ji.
Following one’s religion is everyone’s duty. Creating followers through wealth, temptation or force does not exist in any religion. There is no place for coercion in religion – this must be understood. The attacks made by the Mughals on Indian culture and religion were repelled by Maharashtra and Punjab, because of which we are witnessing today’s India, he said. Maharashtra is the land of the brave, the saints, and of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he said, also paying tribute to the valor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
The Sikh community has the tradition of Ardas. Many sects worship through Ardas. Banjara, Sikligar, Sindhi, Labana and Mohyal communities are all united in this. Chief Minister Fadnavis has done the great work of uniting these communities and delivering justice to them, he praised.
At the beginning of the program, all dignitaries paid homage to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and all the Gurus. Several revered saints were present on the occasion.
