Gautam Adani, Satya Nadella Discuss India’s Expanding AI Landscape Amid Microsoft’s $17.5 Billion Investment

New Delhi, Dec 2025 : Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday met Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, holding detailed discussions on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence as India positions itself as a major global hub for emerging technologies.

The interaction came at a landmark moment, as Microsoft announced a massive $17.5 billion investment in India over the next four years—its largest-ever commitment in Asia—aimed at accelerating AI adoption, infrastructure development, and talent creation across the country.

Following the meeting, Adani shared his thoughts on X, describing the conversation as insightful and forward-looking.
“Always a pleasure to meet @satyanadella and gain his valuable insights into the future of technology,” he said. Adani added that the partnership between the Adani Group and Microsoft continues to deepen as “the physical and digital worlds converge in the age of AI.”

Adani also revealed that Nadella personally demonstrated AI applications he has been working on, calling it a reflection of the hands-on leadership that defines exceptional global visionaries.

Nadella’s India visit included a significant meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. After the discussion, Nadella posted on X:
“Thank you, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for an inspiring conversation on India’s AI opportunity. To support the country’s ambitions, Microsoft is committing US$17.5 billion—our largest investment ever in Asia—to help build the infrastructure, skills, and sovereign capabilities needed for India’s AI-first future.”

Prime Minister Modi responded positively, highlighting India’s readiness to lead the global AI movement.
“When it comes to AI, the world is optimistic about India!” he wrote. Modi further said he was pleased to see Microsoft making its biggest Asian investment in India and expressed confidence that the nation’s youth would leverage AI to “innovate and build a better planet.”

Microsoft noted that India is at a pivotal point in its AI journey, driven by large-scale impact, inclusive growth, and economic transformation. With its fast-growing digital infrastructure and tech-savvy population, the company said India is rapidly emerging as a frontier AI nation.

Satya Nadella’s current visit to India is part of a broader AI-focused tour, aimed at engaging policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators as the country accelerates toward an AI-enabled future.
