Self-Help Group Women Receive Organic Vermi-Compost Machine, Boosting Livelihoods Alongside Green Development
Jaipur, Dec 2025: In a special event organized on Friday at the Moti Doongri Temple premises, the Rajasthan Rural Livelihoods Development Council (Rajeevika) presented an organic vermi-compost machine to women from self-help groups (SHGs). The initiative was carried out through a collaborative effort between Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Rajeevika.
The event was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary Shreya Guha and State Mission Director Neha Giri, who officially launched the machine. The program commenced with a tilak and ceremonial worship performed by Moti Doongri Mahant Ji. During the flag-off ceremony, Project Director Preeti Singh, along with other state-level officials and DPM Jaipur, Anupama Saxena, were present.
The machine has been provided to SHG women from Vidhani Panchayat, enabling them to produce high-quality organic vermi-compost by reusing floral waste collected from temples, community spaces, and market areas. The compost will serve local farmers and horticultural groups, providing them with an eco-friendly and chemical-free fertilizer.
This initiative is expected to strengthen the livelihoods, entrepreneurship, skill development, leadership, and social recognition of SHG women. At the same time, it promotes employment generation at the village level and encourages environmental protection.
Women associated with Prerna CLF expressed great enthusiasm and joy at this innovative initiative, seeing it as an inspiring example of women empowerment, sanitation management, and green development.
This step demonstrates how sustainable development and livelihood promotion can go hand in hand, providing women with both economic opportunities and tools to contribute to a greener, cleaner environment.
