Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade Boosts Girls’ Morale by Distributing Bicycles

Empowerment of girls is the foundation of a strong state and a strong nation: Minister Smt. Rajwade

Raipur, January 2026 : Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that the empowerment of girls is the cornerstone of a strong state and a strong nation. She was addressing a bicycle distribution programme for girl students of government schools, organised under the “Beti Bachao Abhiyan” as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the State Bank of India, Byron Bazar, Raipur.

During the programme, Minister Smt. Rajwade distributed bicycles to the girls and extended her best wishes to them. She said that facilities such as bicycles play a crucial role in ensuring continuity in girls’ education. They make commuting to school easier, boost self-confidence and help reduce dropout rates.

Praising the social initiative of the State Bank of India, the Minister said that when banks and other institutions join hands with government schemes through CSR, widespread and positive changes in society become possible. She added that the state government is working with sustained commitment towards the education, safety and self-reliance of girls.

Bank officials, school teachers, parents and a large number of girl students were present at the programme. The joy and confidence on the faces of the girls after receiving the bicycles were clearly visible.
