Sardar Patel’s Contribution to Building United India is Unforgettable
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav recalled the invaluable contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the making of a united India, stating that Sardar Patel was a leader whose life continues to inspire service to the nation. The Chief Minister was addressing the unveiling ceremony of a life-size statue of India’s first Home Minister, the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, installed by the Municipal Corporation at Sardar Patel Udyan in Vijaynagar, Jabalpur.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, amid resounding chants of ‘Sardar Patel Amar Rahe’, unveiled the statue. Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, MP Ashish Dubey, Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, MLAs Abhilash Pandey, Ashok Rohani, Neeraj Singh, local councillor Shri Kamlesh Agrawal, City President Shri Ratnesh Sonkar, Rural President Shri Rajkumar Patel, and former Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Shri Vinod Gontiya were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said it was Sardar Patel’s unwavering resolve that led to the integration of princely states into the Indian Union after Independence. He added that Sardar Patel will also be remembered for the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple and for his differences of opinion with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on matters such as Article 370. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for installing the grand Statue of Unity at Kevadia in Gujarat, which has provided citizens with an opportunity to learn about and draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s life and ideals.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the citizens of Jabalpur and the Kurmi Kshatriya community on the unveiling of the statue. He appreciated the efforts of Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, MP Ashish Dubey, Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, and MLAs Dr. Abhilash Pandey and Ashok Rohani in facilitating its installation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, at the outset of the ceremony, was welcomed by district and state representatives of the Kurmi Kshatriya community, including District President Vivek Choudhary, Youth Wing District President Shailendra Patel, State President Suresh Patel, General Secretary Om Prakash Sachan, Coordinator Ranjeet Patel, and Shri Ashish Patel and Shri Shiv Patel. Former District Panchayat President Smt. Manorama Patel was also present.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav paid floral tributes to Sardar Patel. The Kurmi Kshatriya community presented the Chief Minister with an idol of Radha–Krishna.
