Yogi government ensures supplementary nutrition at Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centers
Lucknow : Under the state’s child development projects, the Yogi government’s steadfast commitment to providing supplementary nutrition at Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centers is a promise of continuity.
Through the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM), an average of 113 blocks have been covered during 2023-24 and 2024-25. Notably, 204 blocks were reached in the first quarter of 2024, with 95 blocks covered in the second quarter. The government aims to produce and supply supplementary nutrition across all 75 districts, with 204 units already established in 43 districts, and plans to set up TRH units in the remaining 32 districts by 2026-27.
To ensure the smooth operation of this scheme under the State Livelihood Mission, the government has issued guidelines emphasizing the timely supply of supplementary nutrition and the prompt adjustment of advance payments to UPSRLM.
SRLM provides dry rations in addition to monthly supplementary nutrition. For areas not covered by UPSRLM, NAFED has arranged to supply fortified wheat, porridge, gram dal, fortified edible oil, and fortified rice through the fair-price shops of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies as supplementary nutrition.
